Originating from the chocolate city, the self-taught designer began making clothes and add-ons at a young age revamping everything she could touch. Encouraged by family to be her most authentic self, PhaeMone has never been shy to throw it on and shine in her most eclectic light. PhaeMonae loves to explore multiple mediums that feel transcendent of their personal joys and creative layering.
As a queer black artist and mom, it feels important to represent that child-like essence in all of us while also tapping into the fierce badass being that keeps us safe and thriving. PhaeMonae likes to think of their work as a delicate armor led by spirit motifs and the creative itch to make from what inspires her. The world is full of inspiration but we all should look within ourselves and celebrate the divine love that has brought us here to relish in the beauty together. Honoring traditional delicacies of urban culture and the black experience with the guidance of My ancestor’s wisdom and cosmic direction through an intuitive creative gaze. Promoting the possibility for gender fluidity, flamboyance, and joy without restriction or expectation to be anything other than what we desire in that moment. Fashion is accessible if we make it with the wearer and the planet in mind. Creating unique pieces to empower the wearer.
